Fees and Terms
effective as of January 1, 2023
Mediation Fee for Sessions in Dallas and Surrounding Dallas/Fort Worth Area:
Full Day: $1,500 per party
Half Day: $750 per party
2-Hour: $450 per party
[Fees are the same for in-person or Zoom mediations unless otherwise agreed.]
This flat rate covers all preparation time, calls in advance of the mediation, any administrative fees, the mediation session, the mediation facilities, and reasonable follow-up after the session. For full-day mediations, the fee will normally cover a working lunch unless other arrangements are made. A typical full day will be 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and a typical half day will be either 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. If significant additional time is needed on the day of mediation, an additional hourly fee of $200 per party will be assessed. If you believe your case involves special circumstances that would warrant a rate adjustment or a different time allotment, we would be happy to discuss the matter. All parties represented by the same attorney are considered a single party for purposes of the mediation fee.
Mediation Fee for Sessions Outside of Dallas and the D/FW Area:
Full Day: $2,500 per party
For out-of-town mediations, arrangements for the mediation facilities and lunch will normally be made by the parties. Other terms listed above for full-day local mediations are also applicable to out-of-town mediations. Additional expenses, such as airfare, lodging, and transportation, are expected to be split equally by the parties unless otherwise agreed.
Cancellation and/or Rescheduling Policy: If a mediation is canceled within three business days of the session and not rescheduled, a 50% cancellation fee will be charged to the party or parties canceling.
Fees for Court-appointed Matters or Outside/Local Counsel Matters: My standard requested fee for these matters is $300/hour.
